Success Breeds Success: Part 2, Revenge of the Fridge.
We shall continue our journey... as I see the forthcoming film script being written. The fridges were available. Three MG315GCS Triple Hinged Glass and Silver Door Under-Counter Bottle Coolers, Two MG0250GCS Double Hinged Glass and Silver Door Under-Counter Bottle Coolers and One MG150RDDCS Single Hinged Silver Solid Door Under-Counter Refrigerator.
We were good to go. I told the lady that I'd run up an invoice and call her back for payment. This I duly did. When I called back I double checked that the order was totally correct. Then I checked that she was fully aware of the dimensions of these units. This is where, in the film, the tension will be brought by Hitchcockian technique to almost unbearable levels.
The lady was under the impression that the double bottle coolers were 900mm wide when, in fact, they are 920mm wide. This would extend the run by 40mm, just over one and a half inches! She told me she would re-measure and call back.
This bit should be similar in tone to the part of Apollo 13 where the capsule is re-entering earth's atmosphere and mission control are awaiting anxiously to hear their radio response. Have their heat sheilds held? Have their parachutes deployed? After an interminable time the phone rang, I pounced, it wasn't here. This happened a few times and finally the lady called back. The man from Del Monte, he say YES! The fridges would fit. Total sale ?4188.60 + VAT. Good things come to those who wait. GO WARD'S!
